A Sustainable Approach to Dyed Cotton Fabric Stripping Using Ozone

چکیده
Sodium hydrosulfite is conventionally used for the color stripping of reactive dyes in textile industry. However, research has been focused on eco-friendly processes to reduce wastewater generation recent years. This study aimed at estimating efficacy ozone according dyes’ chromophore groups. The dyed cotton-knitted fabric with three that have phthalocyanine (Reactive blue 21), diazo black 5) and monoazo yellow 84) chromophores was treated ozone. effect experimental parameters (pH, dose treatment time) examined samples terms lightness bursting strength properties. results show decolorization efficiency varies type group. maximum removal achieved Reactive 21 dye group optimum process conditions (pH 3, Ozone 7 g/h, exposure time 40 min) followed by dioazo groups, respectively. sample decolorized using remained stable throughout study. Moreover, ozone-stripping effluent meets environmental quality standards can be reused up least four cycles without affecting efficiency. Hence, it provide a sustainable alternative water consumption sector.

White specks are undyed spots on d yed fabric, and are commonly caused by nep s. Since quality of a finished garment is determi ned by, among other things, the number of imperfection s contained within the fabric, the inclusion of white specks is detrimental to fabric quality. The manual counti g of neps is not only a time-consuming process, but a lso inconsistent and prone to error because it ...
